Last month it was reported that Accenture is being sued by Hertz to the tune of $32m for failure to deliver a new website.
“Accenture sued over website redesign so bad it Hertz” might make the reader smile, but there’s no denying the phenomenal cost to a business when a project of this size fails to deliver.
However large or small the project, many consultants and businesses struggle with management methods which are outdated and frequently aren’t up to the job in hand.
As part of our monthly networking meeting in May, Consult Yorkshire has invited a guest speaker to share tips on “Agile”, a hugely successful modern method for running and delivering projects.
Steve Bowman is a freelance software developer and certified “ScrumMaster” who is passionate about Agile. In fact he uses it for running his personal life as well as his work projects!
Steve’s skill session will include:
· An introduction to Agile, how it works, and why.
· An overview of the two most popular versions Scrum and Kanban, and a range of techniques that can be used to improve estimation, planning, quality and delivery of projects.
· How a range of organisations in different industries have used Agile to improve the way they work.
Studies have shown that Agile can double project success rate and halve the failure rate, compared to traditional approaches to running projects. So come along and find out how Agile can help your business deliver projects more successfully.
